Arizona, New Mexico Tucson Electric Power Co., along with Southwestern Power II LLC, is planning to build the SunZia Southwest Transmission Project. It will consist of 515 miles of two single-circuit 500-kV transmission lines, with a total capacity of 3,000 MW; the lines will deliver primarily wind- and solar-generated electricity from southwestern New Mexico to southeastern Arizona, interconnecting with four substations in Pinal and Graham counties in Arizona and Hidalgo and Luna counties in New Mexico. Florida The Citrus County Board of Commissioners is planning to widen a 2.8-mile section of County Route 491, or North Lecanto Highway, to four lanes from two lanes, with associated water and wastewater improvements. Kentucky The Drees Co. is planning to develop the Highlands Arcadia Towne Homes in Alexandria. It will be developed in five phases and ultimately consist of 107 units in 26 buildings, totaling 200,000 sq ft. The project is valued at between $10 million and $15 million. Massachusetts First Highland Development is planning to redevelop a 21-acre portion of the former MBTA railyard in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston. Readville Yard 5 will consist of six buildings of various sizes, totaling 375,000 sq ft, that will include light- industrial, manufacturing and office space, as well as 250 parking spaces. Colorado Denver Water currently is evaluating bids from contractors seeking to carry out phase three of the rehabilitation of the 105-year-old Antero Dam, located in Park County. After the reservoir is drained, the contractor will construct a soil-bentonite barrier wall 5 ft into bedrock through the dam embankment along 4,000 ft of the dam crest. The project also will include placement of riprap and riprap bedding and the modification of existing instrumentation. The project is valued at between $4 million and $6 million. New Mexico Los Alamos National Laboratory has awarded a $12-million design-build contract to Burns & McDonnell to construct a special-use building that will house two uninterruptible power-supply systems.
