California Hyperloop Transportation Technologies is planning to build a 5-mile-long test track for the Hyperloop in Quay Valley. The Hyperloop is a proposed high-speed long-distance transportation system that features multipassenger vehicles traveling through depressurized tubes. Mississippi The Rail Authority of East Mississippi is planning to build a 56-mile, short-line track to link the Meridian Southern Railroad at Waynesboro to the Mississippi Export Railroad at Lucedale. This connection will reestablish rail service from Corinth, through the Golden Triangle, down to Meridian and the Gulf at the Port of Pascagoula and the Port of Mobile. Utah The Redevelopment Agency of Salt Lake City is seeking qualifications from developers interested in the first phase of the Station Center urban renewal project. The Depot District, between the Salt Lake Central Station multimodal transit hub and the historic Rio Grande Depot, is envisioned to become a bustling, mixed-use urban neighborhood. It will include hundreds of new apartments, shops, offices and green spaces as well as the renovation of two historic structures: the old Serta Mattress and Beehive Brick buildings. Wisconsin American Transmission Co. and Northern States Power Co. are jointly planning to build the Badger Coulee high-voltage transmission line.
