KENTUCKY The Kentucky Dept. of Fish and Wildlife Resources has awarded a $3.2-million stream-restoration design project to AMEC, the largest such contract ever awarded by the agency. The project covers the restoration and enhancement of Puncheon Creek and Fishing Creek and their tributaries in central Kentucky. CALIFORNIA The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southwest District, has awarded a $14.2-million firm fixed-price task order under a previously awarded multiple award construction contract to Harper Construction Co. for the design, repair and renovation of a helicopter hanger building. Construction of the 230,000-sq-ft administrative office will include the integration of an intrusion-detection system, mass-notification system and integration into central systems. PENNSYLVANIA The Reading Parking Authority awarded a $10-million general construction contract to Perroto Builders for a 776-space, seven-story parking garage across from the future sight of the Sovereign Center convention center on Penn St. in Reading. The parking garage will be adjacent to the planned seven-story DoubleTree hotel-restuarant complex, which is currently set to have 218 rooms. TEXAS The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded a $17.9-million design-build contract to MCC/Catamount Constructors LLC for a medical field training complex at Camp Bullis.
