Kirk Morrison will join engineering firm Stantec, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, as vice president, the firm told ENR. This follows the company's June 29 announcement of an intended acquisition of Calgary, Alberta-based Cimarron Engineering Ltd., of which he has been president and CEO. The 290-person firm, founded in 1985, specializes in design, installation and maintenance of oil and gas pipeline systems and station facilities. It has an estimated revenue of $40 million.

Keith Zecchini has joined engineer-program management firm Parsons Brinckerhoff as global chief information officer. He had been vice president at Talisman Energy, responsible for information technology services; also, he was CIO of Kvaerner Engineering & Construction.

Thomas Simon, formerly vice president of engineering at Penniman & Browne Inc., a Baltimore engineer and testing firm, has joined Froehling & Robertson Inc., a Richmond, Va., engineer, as branch manager of a new Cockeysville, Md., location. The role follows F&R's June 22 acquisition of P&B. Louis Wittenberg, formerly P&B vice president of sales, now manages business development in the new location. Rebecca Penniman, former P&B president, "is no longer involved with the company," says a spokesman. F&R is ranked at No. 255 on ENR's list of the Top 500 Design Firms, with $37.8 million in 2011 revenue.

The National Association of Minority Contractors has named Gloria C. Shealey president. The first woman in the post in NAMC's 43-year history, she is president and CEO of The Daniele Co. LLC, a Durham, N.C., commercial contractor, construction manager and real estate consultant. Shealey is a founding board member and past chair of the United Minority Contractors of North Carolina.

The Shaw Group Inc., Baton Rouge, announced key executive changes on July 9. Clarence Ray, former CEO of the contractor's power group, becomes a corporate vice president; he will link with its environmental-infrastructure group to pursue global work in the mining sector and open a new office in Arizona. Eli Smith is named president of the power group to oversee Shaw's work in the fossil, nuclear and renewable-energy sectors; he had been the group's chief of operations. Formerly senior vice president of international operations industries, Remi Bonnecaze becomes chief operating officer of the fabrication and manufacturing group, overseeing its global operations. Rusty Brown has been named a corporate vice president, responsible for expanding company-wide business initiatives. He had been the power group's vice president of business development, focusing on the Middle East.

Wallace Morris Surveying Inc., Las Vegas, has named Kurt Orban senior vice president and head of operations in its new Elko, Nev., office. He was lead survey inspector for El Paso Pipeline Group on the 680-mile Ruby natural-gas pipeline from Wyoming to Oregon, completed last year.

 

SKIDELSKY

Scott Skidelsky has joined Balfour Beatty Construction as senior vice president for business acquisition in its Orlando-based Florida division. The firm would not not disclose his previous employer or title, but he had been vice president and general manager of Turner Construction Co. in Florida, according to previous ENR information and other published reports.

STV Inc. has named Michael J. Petrisko as vice president, CIO and head of the designer's information technology department. Based in Douglassville, Pa., he had been senior vice president and CIO at Hill International.

Vanderweil Engineers, a Boston mechanical-electrical-fire protection design firm, has named Robert Bucey an associate principal. He joins the firm's national commissioning practice from a previous role as director of engineering at Beth El Deaconess Medical Center, also based there. Bucey had supervised the hospital's construction, facility and utility management staff. Vanderweil is ranked at no. 178 on ENR's list of the Top 500 Design Firms, with $57.6 million in 2011 revenue.

Brinderson LP, a Costa Mesa, Calif., industrial and petroleum contractor, has named as CEO, the company confirmed to ENR. He succeeds who becomes chairman. Conda, a 30-year construction veteran in the oil-and-gas sector, had been senior vice president and general manager for WorleyParsons' western operations, based in California. He served as vice president and director of onshore projects at ABB Lummus Global (now CB&I Lummus) and as senior vice president of operations at Aker Solutions. Brinderson ranks at No. 288 on ENR's list of the Top 400 Contractors, with $187 million in 2011 revenue.Contractor McCarthy Building Cos. Inc., St. Louis, has hired as president of a newly created division in Houston, ENR has learned. He is the former CEO of W.S. Bellows Construction Corp., also based there, a position he had held since 2007. Stevenson is chairman of the Associated General Contractors' Houston chapter; since 2009, he has led the Construction Career Collaborative, a local industry initiative intended to boost the region's craft workforce.
