SNYDER

Charles H. Snyder has been named as president and CEO of Am-Quip Crane Rental LLP, Trevose, Pa., effective on Jan. 17. He had been executive vice president of fleet operations and a board member of Sunbelt Rentals Inc. Snyder also previously served as chief operating officer of NationsRent and as president of AMECO, a subsidiary of Fluor Corp. He replaces Frank Bardonaro, who left Am-Quip in August 2010 to join Terex Cranes as vice president and managing director in the Americas.

Greg McGuire has joined Fairfax, Va.-based consulting firm ICF International as a principal following its Dec. 17, 2010, acquisition of Marbek Resource Consultants Ltd., an Ottawa, Ontario, consultant, of which he had been president. Founded in 1983, Marbek specializes in energy and environmental consulting.

Ames & Gough, the McLean, Va.-based insurance broker and risk management consultant to design firms, has named Christine Payne as senior account manager. She had been in that same role in the property and casualty unit of Lockton Insurance Broker LLC.

BROTHERS

Lisa Brothers has been elevated to president and CEO of Nitsch Engineering, Boston. Formerly vice president and chief operating officer, she replaces Judith Nitsch, who was named founding principal and board chairwoman. Brothers, who joined the firm in 1990, also is president of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Massachusetts and past president of the Boston chapter of the Women’s Transportation Seminar.

Ismail Najjar has joined engineer-contractor SNC-Lavalin Group Inc., Montreal, as vice president of water resources following the firm’s acquisition of Hydrosult, a Montreal-based water consulting firm, of which he had been president and owner. Najjar is a founding member and past governor of both the World Water Council and the Arab Water Council as well as past director of the International Water Resources Association.

Pacific Coast Steel, the San Diego-based reinforcing-steel contractor, has named David A. Perkins as president and CEO. He replaces Eric B. Benson, who remains a board member. Perkins had been executive vice president since 2006 and is a former general counsel for the American Subcontractors Association. Pacific Coast Steel ranks 45th on ENR’s Top 600 Specialty Contractors list, with $267.5 million in 2009 revenue. It is majority-owned by Gerdau Ameri-steel, North America’s second-largest mini-mill steelmaker.

PERKINS

Gregory L. Crawford has been promoted to executive director of the Steel Recycling Institute, a business unit of the American Iron and Steel Institute, a Washington, D.C., trade group. He succeeds William M. Heenan Jr., who is stepping down as president due to health reasons, the group says. Heenan had been with SRI for 19 years. Crawford, formerly SRI vice president of operations, is executive director of the Cool Metal Roofing Coalition and immediate past chairman of the Sustainable Buildings Industry Council.

Will Ditzler has been named president of Cardno JFNew, following completion of the acquisition of environmental consultant JFNew, Walkerton, Ind., by Cardno Ltd., an Australian environmental and engineering firm. It was announced on Dec. 13, 2010. Ditzler had been chairman, president and CEO of JFNew. He joined the firm, which specializes in ecosystem restoration and natural-resources management, in 1992. Cardno acquired consultants ENTRIX and Environmental Resolutions Inc. in 2010.

Engineer KCI Technologies Inc., Sparks, Md., has promoted Christine Y. Koski to vice president and chief financial officer. She replaces Donald A. McConnell, who is retiring from the firm after 12 years. Koski, who joined KCI Technologies in 2004, had been controller.

STANPHILL

Dean Stanphill was elevated to president and CEO of GCE Environmental Inc., Reno, Nev. Formerly vice president, he replaces Richard Prosser, who becomes chairman. GCE specializes in biogas recovery and energy system design and construction. Stanphill also was senior vice president of Converse Consultants and is president of the Great Basin chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America.

B+H Architects, Toronto, has completed what it says are mergers with Vancouver, B.C.-based architecture firms that have resulted in new executive roles. Paul Morissette, former designer director of CHIL Design Group, now is principal of B+H CHIL Design. Teresa Coady, co-founder and CEO of Bunting Coady Architects, now is president of B+H BuntingCoady and a B+H principal. Also merged into B+H is Reno C. Negrin Architects, which a B+H spokeswoman says will no longer operate under that name and is part of B+H BuntingCoady.

Two acquisitions by Pennoni Associates Inc., a Philadelphia engineering firm, have resulted in executive changes. Mark H. Davidson, founder and president of Design Consultants Group, Milton, Del., now is Pennoni principal engineer and office principal in Milton following his firm’s Dec. 20, 2010, purchase. Thomas D. Rust, chairman of Patton Harris Rust & Associates, a Chantilly, Va., engineer and land surveyor, now is vice chairman of that firm, following its Jan. 3 acquisition. PHR&A becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Pennoni.

Patrick Moore has joined Environmental Resources Management, London, as a partner and U.S. southern division planning leader, following the Dec. 8, 2010, acquisition of Alexandria, La.-based Moore Planning Group, of which he had been managing principal.
