New York Skanska/Trevcon, a joint venture, has started work on the East 91st Street Marine Transfer Station in New York City. The project involves demolishing the existing facility and access ramp and then building a new 80,000-sq-ft facility, where solid waste will be transferred from sanitation trucks to barges. The project will include dredging the waterway adjacent to the building and constructing a new fendering system and over-water access ramps. North Carolina 1/31 The North Carolina Ports Authority is seeking bidders to design-build the North Carolina Forest Products Export Facility in Wilmington. The project entails building a bulk-handling facility for exporting wood pellets. Phase one of the project entails building a facility that will accommodate one million tons of pellets a year, including two 191-ft-dia reinforced-concrete storage domes, rail and train unloading systems, conveyors, chutes, hoppers, transfer towers, and associated mechanical equipment and electrical power supply.
