Belgium BNP Paribas Fortis is planning to build a headquarters in Brussels. The 1 million-sq-ft building's façade will consist of pillars of white concrete, and it will house 4,500 employees. Construction is expected to start in 2017 and be completed in 2021. It is being designed by Be Baumschlager Eberle. The project is valued at between $100 million and $200 million. China Starwood Hotels & Resorts is planning to build the Wenling Sherator Hotel and serviced apartments in Weichuan Village in Zhejiang Province. The project entails building a 985-ft tall tower containing a hotel, serviced apartments, ballroom, conference facilities, roof terrace and waterfront bars and restaurants. China Qingdao International Airport Group Co. Ltd. is planning to build Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport, a new airport, which will replace Qingdao Liuting International Airport, to serve Qingdao, a city of 3.7 million in Shandong Province. The project will entail building 3,600-m and 3,200-m runways and a 4.8 million-sq-m terminal building. It is being designed by Atkins Global. The project is valued at $5.6 billion. England Wilson Bowden Developments is planning to develop the Derby Infinity Park, a business park in Derby. The 250-acre park will include 1.5 million sq ft of office space, industrial facilities, and leisure and retail facilities. Balfour Beatty Plc has been selected as the general contractor. France Région Languedoc Roussillon is planning to build a new building to house the Narbonne Archeological Museum will contain Roman relics from the region. The 96,000-sq-ft structure will have a concrete roof, clerestory windows and an outdoor plaza and an amphitheater. It is being designed by Foster + Partners. France The French Rugby Federation is planning to build the Grande Stade, an 82,000-capacity stadium in Essone. The facility will have a retractable roof, multi-level lounges and corner suites. Italy Zamperla Inc. is planning to build the L'isola San Biagio Theme Park in Venice. The four-acre theme park will include rides and an exhibit illustrating the history and ecology of Venice. Italy The Naval Facilities Engineering Command is planning to build unacompanied enlisted personnel housing at Camp Ederle, a U.S. Army post in Vicenza. The four-story, 91,682-sq-ft building will include living modules designed for two soldiers each, with private bedrooms that share a toilet and kitchen. It is being designed by Rogers Lovelock & Fritz Inc. The project is valued at between $25 million and $100 million. Mexico Fibra Inn, a developer, is planning to build a Marriott International hotel in Saltillo. Construction of the 180-room hotel is expected to start in 2014 and it is expected to open in late 2015. The project is valued at $176 million. Russia The Moscow Region Government is planning to build Park Russia, a 2,500-acre tourism and cultural project, 30 km south of Moscow near Domodedovo Airport. The park will contain an amusement park, circus, cinema, water park, formula race track and landscape gardens. It is expected to draw up to 10 million visitors a year. South Korea Samoo Architecture is designing the National Research Center for Endangered Species on a 638-acre site in Yeongyang-Gun. The center will comprise a series of large biodomes and a quarantine facility and guest houses, totaling 172,000-sq-ft. The project is valued at between $100 million and $200 million.
