Mississippi MVB Holdings is planning to build the Margaritaville Casino Hotel in Biloxi. The hotel will contain 170 rooms and 80 two- or three-bedroom suites as well as a pool, spa and restaurant. The project also will include expanding the existing casino, creating additional meeting space and reconfiguring the existing marina to include more overnight docking accommodations. Cunningham Group is the architect, and The McDonnel Group is the general contractor. The project is valued at between $10 million and $15 million. New York The State University of New York at Stony Brook is planning to build an Animal Biosafety Level 3 Laboratory. The project entails constructing a single-story, 15,186-sq-ft building that will contain three ABSL-3 laboratories, an insectary, an animal-imaging suite, support areas for animal feeding and bedding, and locker rooms. California Wright Contracting Inc. has started the renovation of the El Cerrito High School football stadium. The project includes the removal of all existing wooden and aluminum bleacher seats, installation of artificial turf and an all-weather track, reinforced-concrete retaining walls, an overhead canopy, ticket booths, installation of prefabricated metal bleachers with a press box and ADA lift, new utilities, and lighting and security systems. Kentucky Judy Construction Co. has started work on expanding the water treatment plant in Danville, located at the intersection of Parkview Drive and Cecil Street. The project will expand the plant's capacity to 12 million gallons per day from 10 mgd and include adding granular activated carbon processes, modernizing pumps, replacing tube settlers, upgrading the electrical system, constructing a second line from the pumps to the raw-water mains, and replacing the Perryville standpipe with an elevated tank. Michigan Ace Asphalt & Paving Co. Inc. has started work on an Interstate Highway 75 improvement project in Genesee County. The project involves 19.2 miles of hot-mix-asphalt cold-milling and resurfacing as well as bridge rehabilitation of seven structures from the Genesee-Oakland County line to the north junction of I-475. Pennsylvania Intech Construction Inc. has started building a new mixed-use tower at the University City Science Center, an urban research park in Philadelphia. The 27-story, 400,000-sq-ft building will contain 362 residential units and 17,000 sq ft of ground-floor retail space. The project has been valued at between $25 million and $50 million. Florida 1/30 The Orange County Board of Commissioners is seeking bidders to carry out phase-five improvements to the Eastern Water Reclamation Facility in Orlando. The project entails expanding the wastewater treatment plant's capacity to 24 million gallons per day from 19 mgd, including the installation of new centrifuge dewatering systems. Texas 2/12 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking bidders to carry out the Houston Ship Channel Carpenters pipeline dredging project. The project entails removing one million cu yd of material from the Houston Ship Channel between Carpenters Bayou and Greens Bayou in Harris County. Furthermore, there are possible options for dredging Greens Bayou, Jacinto Port Channel and Port of Houston docks. The project's value has been estimated at between $5 million and $10 million.
