China The West Kowloon Cultural District has selected Herzon & de Meuron to design the M+ museum in Hong Kong. The museum will offer exhibits of art, design, architecture and moving images. Located at the intersection of Austin Road West and Canton Road, the 880,900-sq-ft building will feature a monumental circular cut-out that stretches to the height of the building. England Heatherwick Studio is designing a landscaped pedestrian bridge across the Thames in London for Transport for London. The bridge will connect Covent Garden to the South Bank. England A joint venture comprising Barratt London, a residential developer, and Morgan Stanley are planning to build the Enderby Wharf Development on an 8.9-acre site in Greenwich. The development will include a cruise-ship terminal, a 250-room hotel, 770 riverfront homes and the restoration of Enderby House, which dates to the 1830s. Barratt London will start construction of the housing during fall 2013. Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing will work with West Properties to develop the cruise terminal and hotel. England Nikal, a developer, is planning to build out Exchange Square, the second and final phase of development at Masshouse in downtown Birmingham. The development will encompass up to 550,000 sq ft of office space, up to 150,000 sq ft of hotel and residential space, up to 50,000 sq ft of retail space and, set around a public plaza, up to 500 parking spaces. The project's value has been estimated at between $150 million and $200 million. It is being designed by Glenn Howells Architects. Contact the owner's agent, Jones Lang LaSalle. Finland Forest BtL Oy has awarded Technip a $6.6-million contract to perform the front-end engineering and design of a new biomass-to-liquid plant, which will be located on Ajos Island. The plant will produce 140,000 tons of bio-diesel and naphtha from wood and wood by-products per year. Technip, Mantyluoto, Pori, Finland. DR#13-00553071.

India Takasago International (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. is planning to build a manufacturing and research facility on Old Mahabalipuram Road in the Chennai suburb of Poonamallee in Tamil Nadu state. The 15,000-sq-ft building will contain laboratories to create and blend flavors and fragrances and store raw materials. Construction is expected to begin in late 2013 and be completed by March 2015. Oman Haya Water is planning to build the Al Ansab Sewage Treatment Plant in Muscat. The project entails building a flat-sheet membrane bioreactor facility capable of treating up to 22 million gallons of sewage per day, allowing the output to be used for irrigation purposes. Qatar The American School of Doha has selected Parsons as the project manager for an expansion. The project entails building new gyms, a three-story middle- school building, science labs and art rooms as well as replacing sports facilities. The project is valued at $500 million. Qatar UrbaCon is planning to build the Salwa Beach Hotel and Resort in Salwa. The project includes a 350-room hotel, beachfront villas and "riads"—traditional Moroccan houses with an interior garden or courtyard—a marina, a water park, and a business and conference center. Singapore The Land Transport Authority has announced it is planning to build two new transit lines. Expected to be completed in 2030, the 50-km-long, east-west Cross Island Line will start in Changi, pass through Hougang and Ang Mo Kio, and terminate at the Jurong Industrial Estate. The Jurong Region Line, a branching 20-km-long line, will serve residents of Choa Chu Kang, Boon Lay and Tengah and connect to main activity nodes in Jurong West, such as Nanyang Technological University, the Jurong Industrial Estate and the future Jurong Gateway. United Arab Emirates A consortium led by Arabtec Holding, which includes TAV Insaat and Consolidated Contractors, is building the Abu Dhabi International Airport's Midfield Terminal complex. AECOM is serving as the construction manager. The project entails the construction of a 702,369-sq-m terminal building. Construction is expected to be completed by February 2017.
