China The West Kowloon Cultural District has selected Herzon & de Meuron to design the M+ museum in Hong Kong. The museum will offer exhibits of art, design, architecture and moving images. England A joint venture comprising Barratt London, a residential developer, and Morgan Stanley are planning to build the Enderby Wharf Development on an 8.9-acre site in Greenwich. The development will include a cruise-ship terminal, a 250-room hotel, 770 riverfront homes and the restoration of Enderby House, which dates to the 1830s. Barratt London will start construction of the housing during fall 2013. Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing will work with West Properties to develop the cruise terminal and hotel. England Nikal, a developer, is planning to build out Exchange Square, the second and final phase of development at Masshouse in downtown Birmingham. Finland Forest BtL Oy has awarded Technip a $6.6-million contract to perform the front-end engineering and design of a new biomass-to-liquid plant, which will be located on Ajos Island. Singapore The Land Transport Authority has announced it is planning to build two new transit lines. Expected to be completed in 2030, the 50-km-long, east-west Cross Island Line will start in Changi, pass through Hougang and Ang Mo Kio, and terminate at the Jurong Industrial Estate. The Jurong Region Line, a branching 20-km-long line, will serve residents of Choa Chu Kang, Boon Lay and Tengah and connect to main activity nodes in Jurong West, such as Nanyang Technological University, the Jurong Industrial Estate and the future Jurong Gateway.
