Kansas IKEA Property Inc. is planning to build a new Ikea store at the Merriam Town Center mall in Merriam. The project team will construct a two-story, 349,000-sq-ft building. JE Dunn Construction Co. has been selected as the general contractor. Construction is expected to begin in July 2013 and be completed by September 2014. The project is valued at $70 million. Minnesota Paragon Outlet Partners is planning to build Paragon Outlets at Cedar Grove, an outlet mall in Eagan. The project will encompass six buildings, totaling 441,000 sq ft, and will be located on a 29-acre site at the intersection of Highway 13 and Cedar Avenue. New Mexico Rangeland Energy is planning to build a crude-oil and frac-sand terminal on a 770-acre site in Loving. The terminal will be a full-service facility for crude-oil producers and buyers. It will receive and stage frac sand and pipe, while receiving, storing and distributing crude oil to downstream markets via pipeline and rail. The terminal will be served by BNSF Railways. North Carolina The North Carolina Ports Authority is planning to build a forest-products export facility. The bulk handling facility at the Port of Morehead City will receive, store and load wood pellets onto ocean-going vessels. The pellets will be received by rail and truck. The project will entail building concrete domes for storage and bulk-material conveying systems, including dust-collection and fire-safety systems. Oklahoma The Muscogee Creek Nation is planning a major expansion of its River Spirit Casino in Tulsa. The phase-two project entails building a 22-story, 375,000-sq-ft tower that will contain a 500-room hotel, a convention center, restaurants, and a spa and outdoor pool deck overlooking the Arkansas River. About 45,000 sq ft will be branded as the Margaritaville Casino. A joint venture of Manhattan Construction and Red Stone Construction has been selected as the general contractor. Construction is expected to begin in November 2013 and be completed by November 2015. The project is valued at $250 million. Pennsylvania Majestic Realty Co. is planning to build a warehouse at the Majestic Bethlehem Center Business Park, part of the redevelopment of the former Bethlehem Steel property. Construction of the 1.75-million-sq-ft warehouse will commence once a tenant is secured. Commerce Construction Co. LP will be the general contractor. The project has been valued at between $90 million and $100 million. Florida Edwards Construction Services has started building a distribution center for O'Reilly Auto Parts in Lakeland. The project team will construct a single-story, 300,000-sq-ft building. Construction is expected to be completed by August 2013. The project is valued at up to $15 million. Georgia Van Winkle & Co. Inc., a general contractor, has started construction on an expansion project at Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany. New York Monadnock Construction has started phase-one construction of Hunter's Point South in Long Island City, Queens. The project team will construct two buildings—32 and 38 stories, respectively—totaling 988,014 sq ft and comprising 635 market-rate apartments, 306 affordable apartments, indoor parking for 250 vehicles and 3,000 sq ft of retail space. California 6/5 The Riverside County Transportation Dept. is seeking bidders to carry out the Clay Street grade separation project in the newly incorporated City of Jurupa Valley. The project entails excavating a trench between Van Buren Boulevard and Limonite Avenue to allow Clay Street, which is four lanes wide, to pass under the Union Pacific Railroad tracks; also, a concrete-reinforced storm drain will be replaced. Construction is expected to begin in early 2014 and last 16 months. The project is valued at $17 million.
