California Eagle Crest Energy Co. is planning to construct the 1,300-MW Eagle Mountain pumped storage hydroelectric project in Riverside County. The project entails using excavated mine pits as reservoirs and storing water in the upper reservoir for later release to an underground powerplant to generate electricity, then capturing the water in the lower reservoir. IllinoiS Heritage Enterprises plans to build Evergreen Place, an assisted-living community, on a six-acre site in Normal. The project includes a 73-unit community, with 53 assisted-living units and 20 memory-care studio apartments. The assisted-living units will comprise studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments, each with a kitchenette. The project will also include a community dining room, a beauty salon, an exercise room and sitting areas for socializing and entertainment. New YOrk Nylo Hotels is planning to convert a vacant manufacturing facility in Nyack into a hotel. The site at 400 High Ave., which is adjacent to a New York State Thruway entrance, is currently home to a 40,000-sq-ft corrugated-metal building. West Virginia Preston Memorial Hospital is planning to build a new hospital in Kingwood to replace its present facility. The project comprises a 25-bed hospital on a 26-acre site. Florida OHL-Arellano Construction has started building the Marcus NeuroScience Institute in Boca Raton. The project's centerpiece is a three-story, 48,425-sq-ft building at Boca Raton Regional Hospital, which will contain 22 beds, two operating rooms, MRI and CT scanners, and a biplane angiography suite. The project is expected to be completed by May, 2014. The project's value has been estimated at $42 million. Massachusetts Shawmut Design & Construction Co. has started work on the Stoneham Middle School addition and renovation project. The project team will renovate selected interiors of the existing Central Elementary School, build an 80,000-sq-ft addition to the elementary school and execute phased demolition of the existing middle school, a portion of which overlaps with the new construction's footprint.
