The project entails the construction of a 10-story, 301,552-sq-ft building that will include 284,000 sq ft of office space, 17,000 sq ft of retail space, a 402-space underground parking garage and a 6,000-sq-ft plaza at the corner of 16th and Wewatta streets. The David Whitney Building, erected in 1915, was formerly an office building with a four-story retail atrium. The project team will convert the 250,000-sq-ft, 19-story building into a 135-room Aloft hotel with 108 apartments and ground-floor retail. The developer is the Roxbury Group.
