Florida The Village of Islamorada is planning to build a new wastewater system. The project entails building the North Plantation Key wastewater collection and vacuum sewer improvements and the Middle Plantation Key collection system and vacuum pump station. Reynolds Water Islamorada LLC, a subsidiary of Layne Christensen Co., has been selected to design, build and operate the system. Construction is expected to begin in early 2013 and be completed within 30 months. The project is valued at $90.9 million. Louisiana PinPoint Commercial LP and Thrive Senior Living LLC plan to build The Legacy at Red River in North Bossier. The project entails building a two-story, 104-bed, 70,500-sq-ft assisted-living and memory-care facility. Construction is expected to begin in early January 2013. New Jersey Dranoff Properties is planning to build One Theater Square, a mixed-use project at Two Center St. in downtown Newark. The project entails constructing a 44-story, 300-unit rental apartment building that will have 20,000 sq ft of retail and a 550-space parking garage. It is being designed by BLT Architects. Virginia Smith/Packett, a developer, is planning to build Runk & Pratt at Liberty Ridge, an assisted-living and memory-care facility on top of Candlers Mountain in Lynchburg. It is a build-to-suit project for Runk & Pratt Senior Living Communities. The project entails the construction of a four-story, 185,000-sq-ft building containing 173 apartment-style units serving more than 200 residents. Integrated Construction LLC has been selected as the general contractor. Slated to start this month, construction is expected to be completed in early 2014. Bids/Contracts/Proposals

Alaska The Alaska Dept. of Transportation and Public Works is currently evaluating bids from construction management firms seeking to carry out the Bethel Youth Facility expansion. The project entails building a 10,708-sq-ft addition and renovating 5,716 sq ft of the existing facility. The addition's design incorporates a central spine that connects a new gym, a sally port and medical space to the existing building. The existing housing areas are to be extensively renovated. Construction is expected to begin in May 2013 and be completed by December 2015. The project is valued at between $25 million and $50 million. Arizona Fisher Sand & Gravel has started work on a paving project on Interstate 17 in Copper Canyon in Yavapai County. The project entails constructing a climbing lane and repaving the existing roadway between mileposts 280.00 and 286.74. The project owner is the Arizona Dept. of Transportation. California Bomel Construction Co. has started building a seven-level parking garage in Loma Linda. The 464,000-sq-ft structure will have 1,171 stalls. International Parking Design is the architect for the design-build project. The project owner is Loma Linda University Medical Center. The project has been valued at $17.1 million. Bid/Proposal Dates

Texas 1/8 Texas Parks & Wildlife Dept. is seeking bidders to carry out structural repairs and restoration of the Battleship Texas at the Battleship Texas State Historic Site in La Porte. The project will strengthen the ship to withstand the weight of internal machinery and improve the scantlings/shell plating to withstand the effects of progressive flooding and grounding. California 1/23 The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency is seeking bids to carry out phase two of the Third Street light-rail project. This phase will build a light-rail station at Fourth and Brannan streets and construct surface tracks to extend the existing T-Line to the twin-bore tunnel portal located on Fourth Street, north of Bryant Street. It also includes the excavation, construction and furnishing of three underground stations—Yerba Buena Gardens/Moscone Center, Union Square/Market Street and Chinatown—as well as modifying the southeast section of the Union Square garage and plaza. The Yerba Buena and Union Square stations will be built using a cut-and-cover technique. Expected to begin in March 2013, construction is expected to be completed by March 2018.
