California Sonnenblick Development LLC is planning to build two hotels at Sacramento International Airport. The project entails constructing a 225-room full-service hotel and a 150-room limited-service hotel. Both hotels will be attached to the airport's new Terminal B. Construction is expected to begin in mid-2013, and they are expected to open in early 2015. The estimated construction cost is $100 million. District of Columbia The JBG Cos. have selected Morris Adjmi Architects to design a mixed-use project. The job entails the redevelopment of the former Atlantic Plumbing Supply buildings—located at the corner of Eighth and V streets in the U Street Corridor neighborhood—to create a mixed-use project containing both multifamily residences and retail. West Virginia The City of Martinsburg is planning to build a new wastewater treatment plant. The plant is being designed by O'Brien & Gere Engineers Inc. Illinois Plote Construction Inc. has started construction of the Interstate 90/state Highway 47 interchange expansion project in Huntley. The project entails removal of two existing ramps and the construction of six new ramps, four all-electronic toll plazas, widening and reconstruction of Illinois Route 47, Jim Dhamer Drive, and Freeman Road. It also includes the reconstruction of the Route 47 bridge, extension of Eakin Creek box culverts under Jim Dhamer Drive and Freeman Road, and installation of roadway lighting. Kansas JE Dunn Construction Co. has started construction of a dairy ingredient and cheese plant in Hugoton for Kansas Dairy Ingredients. The plant is expected to begin phase-one operations during the fourth quarter of 2012. Initially, the plant will process about one million pounds of milk per day to produce fractionated dairy ingredients. By the end of 2013, the plant is expected to be producing up to 2.5 million pounds of milk per day. The project has been estimated at a value between $10 million and $15 million. Maryland The Washington Metro Area Transit Authority has awarded a $66- million contract to Skanska USA to design and construct a test track, commissioning facility and parking garage near an existing maintenance yard in Prince George's County. The job entails a 10,000-ft-long test track with traction power, a 50-ft-long mock platform and a 320-space parking garage. Also included are a two-story, 65,000-sq-ft commissioning facility with sufficient space for work on up to eight cars at one time, an overhead crane, traction power, and embedded and pedestal rail. Texas Epoch Properties Inc. has started construction on the Monterra luxury apartment complex in Austin. This project entails 276 units in 15 three-story buildings. Epoch is serving as both the developer and general contractor. Construction is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2013. The project has been valued at $14.6 million. Georgia 7/10 The Bartow County School System is seeking an invited list of bidders to replace Emerson Elementary School. The project entails construction of a new single-story, 104,674-sq-ft building at Sixth Street and Old Alabama Road. The project is expected to be completed by April 2014.
