California The U.S. General Services Administration has selected RMW Architecture & Interiors to provide architectural and engineering services for repairs and alterations to the six-story, 619,000-sq-ft Frank Hagel Federal Building in Richmond. Colorado The Dept. of Veterans Affairs has awarded a $22.5-million contract to Kiewit-Turner, a joint venture, to construct a new 184-bed VA Medical Center in Aurora. The project entails renovating the former UPI office building. The new 120,000-sq-ft facility will replace the Denver Medical Center for the Eastern Colorado Health Care System. It will include a 30-bed spinal-cord-injury and disease center, a 30-bed community living center, a research building, a central utility plant and parking structures. Florida The Canaveral Port Authority has selected Skanska USA Building Inc. to provide design-build services for a new 110,000-sq-ft, two-story cruise terminal and a 750-car parking garage located at the West Turning Basin. Hawaii The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Honolulu District, has selected DCK-ECC Pacific LLC to provide design-build services for various Army expansion projects at Fort Shafter. New York The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has selected Tishman Technologies Corp. to provide construction management and general contracting services for the Security Capital Program.
