COLORADO The State of Colorado, Office of the State Architect, has selected OZ Architecture and Boora Architects to provide architectural and engineering services for the 179,000-sq-ft Student Learning & Success Building located at the Auraria Higher Education Center campus. CONNECTICUT The Connecticut Dept. of Transportation has awarded a $356.8-million contract to O&G Industries Inc. to build a new highway interchange in New Haven. The interchange involves Interstate 91, U.S. Route 1, Connecticut Route 34 and Interstate 95. It includes the realignment and widening of both Interstates and the replacement of the west approach of the Q Bridge. Construction is expected to be completed by November 2016. NEW MEXICO Los Alamos County has selected Jaynes Corp. to provide design-build services for the new Municipal Building in the town of Los Alamos. The project includes a 49,000-sq-ft, five-story facility with an optional 18,000-sq-ft addition for the county records department. The estimated construction cost is $15.8 million. NEW YORK The New York State Insurance Fund has selected CSA Group Architects & Engineers to provide design services for interior renovation of the State Insurance Fund Building in New York City. The project includes installation of fire, HVAC and plumbing systems, floor and ceiling replacements, and investigations and abatements of hazardous materials. TEXAS The University of Texas at Austin has selected Hensel Phelps to provide construction management-at-risk services for an Engineering and Research Building. Project includes a 421,500-sq-ft facility with laboratories, classrooms and a 250- to 300-person state-of-the-art auditorium for the Cockrell School of Engineering. WASHINGTON The University of Washington has selected W.G. Clark Construction Co. to provide construction management/general contracting services for 680 new apartment units in a five-story complex at designated Site 29W and minor renovations at the 310-unit residence Mercer Hall. NORTH CAROLINA 1/31 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking bidders to build a behavioral health clinic, located on the Womack Medical Campus at Fort Bragg. The project entails building a 63,000-sq-ft building and a parking lot. The project is valued at between $25 million and $100 million. PENNSYLVANIA 2/2 The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is seeking bidders for a roadway reconstruction and resurfacing project. The project entails resurfacing the turnpike from milepost 29.96 to milepost 34.63; in Washington County, from milepost 39.82 to milepost 44.70, and reconstruction and rehabilitation of the interchange ramps. ILLINOIS 2/3 The University of Illinois is seeking subcontractor bidders to build Ikenberry Commons, phases E and G. This project entails building a six-story, 182,566-sq-ft dormitory containing 450 suites or semi-suites. Each unit will be approximately 800 sq ft and feature two double rooms, a living room and rest-room. Construction is expected to begin in May 2011 and be completed by September 2013. VIRGINIA 2/3 Lodgeworks LLC is seeking bidders to build the Hotel Sierra in Merrifield. The project entails building a seven-story, 101,761-sq-ft, 148-room hotel, including a swimming pool, fitness room, restaurant and retail spaces. TEXAS 2/9 The Port of Houston Authority is seeking qualifications for program management services for modifications of the Barbours Cut Terminal container yards and wharves . The project includes updating utilities, pavement, buildings, security systems and berthing areas. The project entails revisions for the container-terminal master plan, developing transition documents for conversion from 12,470-volt primary services to 138-kV services and developing design-build documents for wharf reconstruction.
