CONNECTICUT Developer Ponemah Riverbank LLC is planning to convert a historic cotton mill located in Taftville into apartments. OHIO SunCoke Energy recently received air-permit approvals to build a $360-million coke oven facility in Middletown. Per year, the plant will produce 550,000 tons of coke, which will be sold to AK Steel under a long-term contract. The project includes a 46-MW cogeneration plant, which is being built on a 157-acre plot off Yankee Road. McGraw/Kokosing is the general contractor. TEXAS Parkland Memorial Hospital is planning to build a replacement building on a 26-acre site across from the present hospital on Henry Hines Boulevard. It will be 17 stories and contain 2 million sq ft, with 862 beds and 120 neo-natal intensive-care-unit bassinets. The project will include 4,000 parking spaces: 2,000 in a garage and 2,000 at-grade.
