CALIFORNIA The city and county of San Francisco has awarded a construction-management contract to Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. for the San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center Rebuild Program. The project entails replacing the existing hospital building with a facility that complies with the state’s seismic safety requirements. The new 448,000-sq-ft, base-isolated hospital will be nine stories (two below ground), with 284 beds.
