ARIZONA Parsons Brinckerhoff has been selected as prime consultant by the city of Peoria to prepare a design concept report for a roadway expansion of the Lake Pleasant Parkway. CALIFORNIATRC Companies was awarded a three-year indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract by the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority to provide on-call environmental engineering services for rail and transit. TEXAS Balfour Beatty has been selected as general contractor for the new Perot Museum of Nature & Science in Dallas. The four-story, 150,000-sq-ft structural-steel-frame building will be built on a 4.7-acre lot adjacent to Victory Park at the corner of Woodall Rodgers Freeway and Field St. The museum will include interactive exhibits and displays, including plant and animal life as well as water features. A lecture hall and multimedia classrooms are also planned. The project intends to seek LEED certification. WYOMING S&S Construction was awarded a contract by the Wyoming Transportation Commission for roadway reconstruction in Gillette. The project consists of reconstruction of four blocks of Burma Rd. and a new overpass at Interstate 90 to extend the road south to connect with Oakcrest Dr. The segment north of the overpass will have five lanes and the segment south will have three. WYDOT opted not to fund the project through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act although the project was eligible to receive ARRA funding.
