Atlas Copco has added a compaction indicator to its LG500 reversible-plate compactor to measure the vibration pattern in the plate and show how well the soil is being compacted. This feature can reduce the chance of over-compaction, which can result in soil cracking. The indicator is located in the center of the handle and shows levels of compaction based on green, yellow and red lights. When the indicator displays red, the soil is adequately compacted. This feedback can save time as well, as workers do not need constantly to check the status of the compacted ground.

Gateway Safety Cover2 are safety eyewear designed to fit over corrective lenses. The one-piece polycarbonate lens fits over most prescription lenses and has adjustable temples to fit properly. The safety lenses meet ANSI Z87.1+ standards and are less bulky than traditional over-the-glasses style protective eyewear.

The EK6101 14-in. Power Cutter is powered by a 61-cc gasoline engine able to deliver 4.4 hp. A redesigned exhaust-gas airflow allows for the reclaiming of unburned fuel, resulting in 20% lower fuel consumption than earlier models. It has a maximum cutting depth of 51/8 in.

The Kobelco SK350 crawler excavator is now available in the North American market. It's powered by a 270-hp HINO engine that meets Tier 4 Final standards. The excavator boasts a digging force of 50,600 lb and a digging depth of 24 ft, 10 in. Its independent travel feature allows for simultaneous travel and lifting.
