Demo Hammer: Lightweight Design At the World of Concrete 2011 trade exposition, Makita featured some of its latest demolition hammers, including the corded 11-lb HM0870C. The hammer has a variable speed control, managing 1,100 to 2,650 blows per minute. The demolition hammer features electronic speed control as well as a soft-start motor. The hammer’s relatively light weight allows it to be used comfortably on horizontal demolition jobs. Furthermore, the tool features 12-bit angle settings for quick adjustments to different jobsite conditions and an automatic brush cutoff, which prevents damage to the commutator during use.
