Stainless-Steel Doors
Fire-rated for 90 Minutes
Archivisions is a New York-based firm that provides a range
of architectural metal, point-support glass and curtain-wall-system
products. The firm has recently introduced a new line of 90-minute,
UL fire-rated, seamless stainless-steel doors and door frames
that are intended to replace stainless-steel clad, fire-rated
hollow metal doors. The doors are available in stain, polished,
sandblasted, as well as nondirectional finishes. Single swing
doors with sizes up to 36 in. wide and 84 in. high may be
provided with or without a 100-sq-in. fire-rated glass lite.

Emergency Lighting
Multifaceted Reflector
Lithonia Lightings redesigned ELM2 and ELM emergency
lighting units feature MR24 lampheads, high-output Krypton
lamps and Quick-Mount three-minute installation. The MR24
multifaceted reflector design of the ELM2 adjustable optics
unit delivers more light on the path of egress, while the
Krypton lamps in both units provide 32% more light output
than standard incandescents. The lights have a 25% smaller
footprint, feature toolless entry for easier installation
and maintenance and are covered by Lithonias three-year

Security Glazing
Public Safety Facility Applications
Makrolon Hygard security glazing materials were used in cell
doors, common areas and visitation booths in Georgias
new Cherokee County public safety facility. Consisting of
multiple layers of polycarbonate or polycarbonate/acrylic
with bonding interlayers, Makrolon Hygard laminates are offered
in six levels of protection ranging from a containment-rated
sheet to a UL Level 3 bullet-resistant material.

Wired Glass
Up to New Building Codes
There are certain applications in the 2003 edition of the
International Building Code and the NFPA 5000 building code
where wired glass is traditionally used that will need to
meet the impact requirements of CPSCs Cat. 1 impact-safety

Unobtrusive Surveillance
Wireless Technology
The Beacon Wireless Camera Surveillance System is an unobtrusive
camera security/surveillance system that masquerades as an
outdoor area lighting fixture. Beacon created the technology
in partnership with surveillance equipment manufacturer ComCam
Inc. and wireless technology developer Wave Wireless Networking.
The wireless technology, which fits into the base of the fixture,
allows the cameras position to be viewed from a central
