Manufacturer adds a new vibration-free forward and reverse control as an integral part of the handle on its reversible plate-model RP850G. The reversible plate retains an impact force of 8,500 lb at a working width of 24 in. and features a 9-hp Honda engine. The RP850 combination of over 8,500 lb of impact force and speeds up to 85 ft per minute delivers maximum productivity of over 10,200 sq ft per hour with compaction lifts of up to 20 in., according to the maker. WALK-BEHIND MINI TRENCHER
Compact Design
This RT60, a 24-in.-wide, 61-in.-long mini trencher, can be used for general utility trenching applications. Its compact design allows the contractor to transport the unit on a trailer or a truck bed. The RT60 is available with the choice of a 6-hp Kohler or 5.5-hp Honda engine and is capable of trenching 4 in., 8 in. or 12 in. deep and 3 in wide. DENSITY GAUGE
For Pavement
Pavement Quality Indicator, model 301, is a new, nonnuclear density gauge designed to bring operating simplicity to the asphalt paving contractor. It is useful in tender mix situations where the roller operator must be especially aware of the mix being compacted successfully. The tool is equipped with advanced software and a new easy-to-view screen. Density itself may now be measured in a percent compaction mode as well as a percent air voids mode. There is also a segregation mode that helps the paving contractor find problem areas on site. TRANSTECH SYSTEMS INC.; 518/370-5558; www.transtechsys.com
