John Rinard has joined Denver-based CH2M Hill Cos. as a senior vice president and director of international infrastructure development, the company confirms to ENR. Most recently, he was a senior vice president and director of major programs at AECOM, where he also served as project director of that firm's Australia Pty. Ltd. unit and as chief operating officer of its AECOM Libya unit.

CH2M Hill also has hired Susan Martinovich, former director of the Nevada Dept. of Transportation, as vice president and director of its North America highway-bridge business. Martinovich also is past president of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO)—the first woman to hold the position—and an executive board member of the National Academy of Sciences' Transportation Research Board. She was named as an ENR Newsmaker in 2011 for her achievements at the Nevada agency and at AASHTO. Named as new vice presidents are Thomas P. Klin, CH2M Hill's Northeast geographic manager, and Patrick King, director of its ports and maritime business operation. King had been technical director for the engineering divers group of Halcrow, which CH2M Hill acquired in 2010. Klin and King are based in New York City.

Sufflok Construction Co., Boston, has named Michael DiNapoli as chief operating officer of its San Francisco-based western region. He had been vice president and general manager of the contractor's mid-Atlantic region, based in Falls Church, Va. Named executive vice president and general manager of that region is Stephen H. Skinner, who joins the firm from a previous executive role at DPR Construction. Skinner also has served as executive vice president at BE&K.

Raymond A. Ferrara and James F. Cosgrove have joined Kleinfelder, a San Diego-based architect, engineer and consultant, as vice presidents and principals. The new roles follow the firm's Nov. 6 acquisition of Omni Environmental LLC, a Princeton, N.J.-based environmental services consultant, of which they were co-founders and principals. Also joining Kleinfelder as human-resources vice president is Shawn Powers. He had been HR senior director at CCI, a control-valve manufacturer for powerplants.

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers, Milwaukee, has elected as its 2013 chairman Stuart Levenick, group president of Caterpillar Inc., Peoria, Ill. AEM also elected John Patterson, chairman and CEO of JCB Inc., Pooler, Ga., as chairman of its construction-equipment sector. AEM, the trade group for the global off-road equipment manufacturing sector, says it has 850 member companies.

Parsons Corp. has elevated Suad Cisic to senior vice president and Brazil country manager. He will oversee its work there and elsewhere in South America and also serve as president of Parsons do Brasil, a subsidiary. Cisic, who joined Parsons in 2006, most recently was vice president and program director focused on international work. He will be based in São Paulo.

 

RHODES
The Truland Group Inc., a Reston, Va.-based electrical contractor, has named Bennett Rhodes as chief administrative officer. Employed by the company since 1997, he most recently had been vice president and general manager of its subsidiaries BKTruland Electric and PelBern Electric. Truland ranks at No. 30 on ENR's list of the Top 600 Specialty Contractors, with $327 million in 2011 revenue.

Monica Lopez and Warren Gran have taken the new roles of managing partner and partner, respectively, of Gran Lopez Architects and Planners, a New York City-based firm they founded earlier this month. They have been associated for the last 12 years at architects Gran Associates and Gran Kriegel.

Opus AE Group Inc., a Minneapolis-based subsidiary of The Opus Group, has named Dean Newins as vice president of architecture and Ernesto Ruiz-García as architecture senior manager. Newins is formerly a partner at OTJ Architects, responsible for regional design-build services. Ruiz-García had been a senior associate at HGA Architects and Engineers.

Shawmut Design and Construction, Boston, has appointed Tony Miliote as vice president of its New York City-based operations in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. An eight-year company veteran, he previously served as vice president of Shawmut's academic business. Milliote succeeds Les Hiscoe, recently named corporate executive vice president and chief operating officer. Shawmut also has promoted Eric Geisler to senior project manager in its expanded Las Vegas-based region and hired Catherine Black as director of business development. She formerly owned her own consulting firm.

SchenkelShultz Architecture has elevated Michelle M. Chandler and Daniel C. Laggan to partner. Both had been principals and are based in the firm's Orlando, Fla., office. The firm ranks at No. 446 on ENR's list of the Top 500 Design Firms, with $21.3 million in 2011 revenue.
