Parsons Corp., Pasadena, Calif., has announced new roles for two top executives, following a corporate restructuring announced on Nov. 30. Virginia L. Grebbien is named president of the firm's new global environment and infrastructure group, which combines its former commercial technology and water infrastructure groups. Formerly president of the latter, she joined Parsons in 2008 from a previous role as western division manager for MWH Americas Inc. Parsons also named Michael M. "Mike" Walsh as president of its new Parsons Australasia group. His base location is still being determined, says the firm. Walsh was president of the commercial technology group. Both changes take effect on Jan. 1.

 

Patricia J. Lancaster has joined the faculty of New York University's Schack Institute of Real Estate as a clinical professor to teach construction management and related topics. She had been president and co-founder of The Lancaster Group, a capital program management consultant. She also was buildings commissioner in New York City from 2002 to 2008.

Several former executives of contractor Rudolph & Sletten, now a Redwood City, Calif.-based unit of publicly traded Tutor Perini Corp., have taken new executive roles in Level 10 Construction, a privately held contracting firm they launched in October in partnership with Jay Paul Co., a San Francisco commercial developer. The executives resigned from R&S in August and September, says a spokeswoman. Dennis Giles, former R&S executive vice president and operations chief, is now president of Level 10, based in Sunnyvale, Calif. Jim Evans, former chief financial officer of the Tutor Perini building group, becomes CFO of the new firm. Named as Level 10's pre-construction vice president is Joe Francini, former R&S senior vice president and chief estimator. Doug Collins and Paul Moran, former R&S vice presidents of operations, are named to the same roles at Level 10. Kenneth G. Sletten, retired R&S co-founder, becomes managing director of the Level 10 advisory board.

 

 

BAZAREVITSCH
Sergio Bazarevitsch has joined environmental engineering firm Brown and Caldwell, Walnut Creek, Calif., as vice president. He is based in Los Angeles. Bazarevitsch, who was operations manager for RMA Land Construction, now leads Brown and Caldwell's alternative project delivery efforts in its western region.

Hill & Wilkinson, a Richardson, Texas, contractor, has named Matthew D. Beshara as vice president and general counsel. He had been the firm's outside legal counsel while associated with Ford Nassen & Baldwin P.C., a Dallas law firm. Hill & Wilkinson reports revenue of about $250 million.

Dutch design firm Grontmij N.V., Europe's third largest engineering consultant, has named Frits Vervoort as chief financial officer. Formerly CFO of Vedior N.V., an Amsterdam-based global staffing firm, he replaces D.M. "Mel" Zuydam, who is set to resign on Dec. 31. Grontmij also named to its executive board Jean-Luc Schnoebelen, who is chief operating officer, and Annemieke Nijhof, who is group director for water and energy in Germany, Hungary, Poland and the U.K. In addition, Grontmij said on Nov. 9 that, at the request of "large shareholders," F.L.V. Meysman and S.E. Eisma have resigned from its supervisory board as chairman and vice chairman, respectively.

 

 

BARKOULI
Al Barkouli, president and CEO of David Evans and Associates Inc. (DEA), a Portland, Ore., design firm, has been named to the same roles in the firm's holding company, David Evans Enterprises Inc. He joined the design firm in 1988. DEA also has named four new vice presidents.. Steve Miles, a 26-year U.S. Army veteran, now leads its federal practice. He was commander and district engineer of the Corps of Engineers' Portland district. Named firm-wide railroad services manager, based in Denver, is Jim Ellerbroek. He was rail team leader and civil-rail division leader at TranSystems Corp. Zafar Alikhan joins DEA as firm-wide transit planning and environmental services manager in its new Los Angeles office. He was transit practice area leader for the Southeast U.S. and Caribbean regions at Jacobs Engineering Group. Jiri Vitek becomes bridge practice leader, based in Portland. He was principal engineer for Rajappan & Meyer Consulting Engineers, San Jose, Calif.
