John Boncher has been promoted to CEO of Cupertino Electric Inc., a San Jose, Calif., electrical contractor, effective in April. The 21-year company veteran remains president and had been chief operating officer. In his new role, Boncher replaces James Ryley, who retires next month as CEO but remains chairman. Ryley joined Cupertino in 1959 as an apprentice electrician and became CEO in 1997.

Insurance broker and risk consultant Marsh, New York City, has named Mark Reagan, a 40-year industry veteran, chairman of its global construction practice. He had been managing director of the construction services group at insurance broker Aon. Reagan also served as construction practice chairman at insurance broker Willis. Marsh has also named Todd Vandenhaak to lead a new specialty construction and engineering consulting practice, based in London, to cover Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He is formerly the Seattle-based senior associate and Northwest regional manager for Marsh USA Inc.

Bioengineering Group, an environmental engineering firm in Salem, Mass., has promoted Wendi Goldsmith, founder and president, to CEO. The company also hired William “Bill” Hall as president. He had been vice president of Nova Technologies.

Kathryn C. “Kacey” French has joined engineer-architect TranSystems, Kansas City, Mo., as assistant vice president in its York, Pa., office. Before joining TranSystems, she was owner/architect at CorrellTech in Madison, Conn.

Michael Baker Corp., Moon Township, Pa., has named James W. Adams as vice president and national technical services manager for the rail and transit services business of its engineering unit, Michael Baker Jr. Inc. He was rail and transit services director for Jacobs Engineering Group.

IMPulse NC LLC, a Mt. Olive, N.C., firm specializing in design and manufacture of overhead contact system components for mass transit systems, has elevated Jeffrey Wharton, formerly executive vice president and general manager, to president. Wharton is chairman of the business members’ business development committee for the American Public Transportation Association.

MEYER

J. Gregory Meyer has joined Fluor Corp., Irving, Texas, as senior vice president, overseeing environmental and nuclear businesses in its government group. He is now based in Arlington, Va. Meyer had been a vice president at Babcock & Wilcox and president and general manager of the U.S. Energy Dept.’s Pantex plant in Amarillo, Texas, which manages and dismantles U.S. nuclear weapons. Further, he was environment, safety, health and quality manager for contractor Safe Sites, Colorado, at DOE’s former Rocky Flats, Colo., weapons site.

Engineer-architect Wilson & Co., San Bernardino, Calif., has promoted Chief Operating Officer Steven Watt to president and CEO. The firm also named James A. Brady as transportation division manager, chairman, and Daniel S. Aguirre as manager of the infrastructure, development and stormwater division, secretary-treasurer.

CHRISTENSEN-SJOGREN

Thomas M. Keckeis has been elevated to be chairman, president and CEO of Messer Construction Co., Cincinnati. Previously chief operating officer, he replaces, as CEO, Peter Strange, a 20-year veteran at the position. He remains chairman of Messer Inc., its holding company. E. Paul Hitter Jr., finance vice president, has been promoted to senior vice president and chief financial officer. He replaces Kathleen C. Daly, a 40-year firm veteran, who has retired.

Linda Christensen-Sjogren has joined building contractor Bovis Lend Lease, New York City, as executive vice president and general counsel. Most recently, she was senior vice president and general counsel at Tishman Construction Corp., also based there. Christensen-Sjogren will provide counsel in corporate legal matters.
