Charles F. Potts, CEO of Indianapolis-based Heritage Construction & Materials, has been elected 2008-09 chairman of American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA), a Washington, D.C.-based transportation industry group.

Bradley Horst, formerly product marketing manager for Autodesk, has joined architect-engineer Einhorn Yaffee Prescott, Albany, N.Y., as its new chief information officer.

Global technology firm Siemens named Matthew Knight senior vice president of sales for Siemens Water Technologies, based in Warrendale, Pa. Most recently, Knight was CEO of Strategic Diagnostics, a biotechnology and diagnostics company in Newark, Del.

Michael P. Stanley was promoted to president and chief operating officer of Doosan Infracore America’s construction equipment division. Stanley was general manager of the Suwanee, Ga.-based manufacturer’s lift truck and construction parts operation.

Larry Gawloski joins Chicago architect Perkins+Will as associate principal and senior designer for science & technology and healthcare. Previously, Gawloski was associate principal for NK Architects, Morristown, N.J.

St. Louis-based design-builder HBE appointed James Devlin and Thomas Vorholt as senior vice presidents for hospital design and construction. Devlin, in charge of the northeast region, was northwest regional director for technology firm Radianse Inc., in Andover, Md. Vorholt, in charge of the southeast region, was vice president of sales, for transporter Ingram Barge, Nashville.

Mahon
MAHON

John F. Mahon Sr., senior vice president and human resources director for architect-engineer HOK, died on Oct. 16 at home in St. Louis. He was 62 and had been diagnosed with cancer. Mahon led the firm’s global human resources initiatives since joining it in 1985. He also was an active participant in the American Institute of Architects’ large firm roundtable. HOK has set up a scholarship fund at St. Louis University High School, of which he was a board member and alumnus. Donations can be sent to the St. Louis-based school.
