Ralph R. Peterson, chairman and CEO of CH2M Hill Cos., Denver, will retire from the latter position in January, to be succeeded by Lee McIntire, a former Bechtel Group senior executive who has been CH2M Hill’s chief operating officer since joining the firm in 2006. Peterson also plans to retire as chairman in May 2009, but the company has not yet named a successor. Peterson has been CEO of CH2M Hill since 1991 and chairman since 2000. He also announced his plan to retire in October 2009 as an employee of CH2M Hill, where he has worked since 1965. It was not announced what Peterson’s future role would be. McIntire’s COO position will not be filled.

CH2M Hill also announces Robert G. Card will become CEO of its federal client group and assume the newly created role of corporate executive vice president. He retains his position as chairman of CH2M Hill’s international group, but steps down as deputy program executive of CLM, the company joint venture that is building venues and infrastructure for the London 2012 Summer Olympics. Card will be replaced by Michael Szomjassy but will remain in London, In his federal group role, he replaces Nancy Tuor, who becomes program manager for the firm’s Masdar New-City project, a multibillion-dollar sustainable development municipal complex being built in Abu Dhabi. She will relocate there. Card is a former U.S. Energy Dept. official and executive of CH2M Hill’s cleanup of DOE’s Rocky Flats, Colo., former nuclear site.
Russell Perry has been named managing director of the Washington, D.C., office of SmithGroup, the Detroit architecture, engineering and planning firm’s largest office. Perry replaces Hal Davis, who has retired and continues as corporate director of sustainable design.
Stan-Lee Kaderbek has joined Collins Engineers Inc., Chicago, as senior vice president. He will oversee development of its highway, rail and transit bridge practice. Kaderbek had been project executive at Walsh Construction Co. and was also a deputy commissioner and chief bridge engineer for the city of Chicago.
Parsons Corp., Pasadena, Calif. has named Steven Kramer a vice president and business development manager of its water and infrastructure business unit, responsible for sales and marketing in the eastern U.S. and internationally. Based in Washington, D.C., he had been head of East Coast infrastructure sales and technical development for Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. Kramer is a noted specialist in trenchless technology construction techniques and author of numerous publications on the subject.
John W. Barotti has been named account manager and senior vice president for Skanska USA Building Co. Based in Rockville, Md. He will be responsible for expanding its efforts in the federal market sector. Barotti was a senior vice president of operations for Clark Construction and is currently chairperson of the Associated General Contractors’ Naval Facilities Engineering Command Committee.
Lynn Gresock has joined ARCADIS, the Denver-based engineering firm, as associate vice president in its U.S. environmental division. Based in Boston, she will be responsible for environmental siting and licensing, and transactional due diligence. Gresock was vice president of energy programs for AMEC Earth & Environmental Inc.
