Linda Figg describes the impetus for the design of the recently unveiled I-35W replacement bridge in Minnesota, which will undergo a design charette process this month in which the community will choose between two options for pier design and other aesthetic features.

Linda Figg

Linda Figg is President/CEO/Director of Bridge Art for FIGG. She is serving as the Visual Quality Manager of the design team for the St. Anthony Falls (I-35W) design-build project being led by the construction joint venture of Flatiron-Manson. FIGG specializes in bridges with customers receiving 268 design awards and 3 Presidential Awards through the National Endowment for the Arts. Linda was named one of Engineering News-Record's Newsmakers in 1998 in part for pioneering a unique community engagement process for the development of landmark bridges.
