On the last day of October, Bechtel Corp.'s three-year, $3.2-billion contract to reconstruct critical infrastructure in Iraq expires. With that deadline looming, and as the company finished close-out operations and pulled its people out of the embattled land, a handful of executives who have played key roles in Bechtel¹s Iraq Reconstruction Project, sat down with ENR editors in New York to break the their self-imposed silence on projects, explain Bechtel¹s performance and share critical lessons learned.
