You can do a lot more in Munich than drink beer and eat pretzels.

How about kick the tires of the latest construction equipment? Coming up this April is Bauma 2013, which draws more than 400,000 professionals from around the globe. The photo above is no joke—we think the triennial Bauma show, which covers roughly 6 million sq ft indoors and outdoors, is this year's biggest construction event. For some perspective, this show is more than twice the size of CONEXPO.

Next week, I'll be traveling to Munich to get a preview of what's on tap this year at Bauma. We'll have less than two days to speak with dozens of exhibitors. The Bauma preview, which crams the vendors in a room that resembles a high-school gymnasium, reminds me if speed dating. Buzz! Your five minutes is up.

In a few weeks, ENR will publish a report on what you can expect at this massive show. And on Feb. 4, as usual, we'll be heading to Las Vegas to cover the annual World of Concrete.

If you plan to go to Vegas or Munich, give me a shout. You can send me an e-mail or ping me on Twitter @DoctorDiesel.
