The U.K. government is drafting rules for allocating $80 million to support large-scale demonstration tidal power schemes around the British coast. Projects benefiting from the new Marine Research Deployment Fund will be announced late this year. Tidal power could be feeding the national electricity grid within three years, according to Energy Minister Mike O’Brien.
