Three building trades
general presidents have won five-year terms to continue to
lead their unions.
At the sheet metal workers' convention
in Chicago Aug. 25, Michael J. Sullivan was re-elected to
a second term. The unions general secretary-treasurer,
Thomas J. Kelly also was re-elected.
Painters' union chief James A.
Williams was elected Aug. 24 in Washington, D.C. , to his
first full five-year term. Williams was appointed to the top
post in April 2002. George Galis was re-elected as general
secretary-treasurer.
At their Aug. 16-19 convention
in Las Vegas, the plasterers and cement masons re-elected
John J. Dougherty to a second term as their union's general
president. Dougherty was first appointed to the top post in
1996. Patrick D. Finley was re-elected as the unions
general secretary-treasurer.
