Big Southern Contractors Merge

Anderson Cos., a Gulfport, Miss.-based general contractor, announced on April 16 it has acquired Brice Building Co., Birmingham, Ala. Anderson, the parent of Roy Anderson Corp. and Harrell Contracting Group, ranks 137th on ENR’s list of the Top 400 Contractors, with $504 million in 2008 contracting revenue. Brice Building ranks 303rd on the list, with 2008 contracting revenue of $243.8 million, mostly in the general building market with strength in the health-care sector. Brice Building will operate under its own name and retain its current leadership, says an Anderson spokesperson. The deal’s terms were not disclosed.
