Intense collaboration among contractors and designers building the Santiago Calatrava-designed Florida Polytechnic University project resulted in a signature architectural marvel.

Industry veterans selected the winners of the Global Best Projects Awards as the most outstanding examples of the risks and rewards - and the hurdles overcome - of designing and building internationally.

The judges looked at projects in many markets and examined safety, innovations, challenges, and design and construction quality - with a special emphasis on the diversity of global project teams and their collaboration.

One project with an especially complicated design and an international team garnered top honors as Project of the Year.

All the projects will be honored on Sept. 10 at the ENR Global Construction Summit in New York City.
