China Ascent Solar Technologies is planning to build a 331,000-sq-ft plant in Jiangsu Province. The plant will have the capacity to produce 100 MW of photovoltaic modules annually. The 25-MW first phase is expected to go online by the end of 2016. The project's value has been estimated at $32.5 million. England Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is planning to build the new Papworth Hospital in Cambridge. The 310-bed hospital will more than double the existing hospital's inpatient capacity. HOK London is the designer, and Skanska is the general contractor. Construction is expected to start in fall 2014 and be completed by early 2017. The project has been valued at $270 million. England Thames Water Utilities Ltd. is planning to upgrade the Deephams Sewage Treatment Works in Enfield. The project will enable the plant to meet tighter environmental standards, which will take effect in March 2017, and improve the water quality of the River Lee. Portugal Johnny Rockets Group, a restaurant chain, is planning to expand to Portugal. While locations have not been selected yet, further developments are pending franchise agreements. Qatar The New Port Project Steering Committee is planning to build a new terminal at New Port,outside Doha. The multi-use terminal will have an annual capacity for 750,000 livestock, 500,000 vehicles and one million tons of bulk grain. The terminal will be located adjacent to the Qatar Economic Zone 3, a development with manufacturing, logistics and residential facilities. Construction is expected to be completed by 2016. Turkey STAR Rafineri A.S., a subsidiary of SOCAR Turkey, is planning to build a refinery in Aliaga. Producing jet fuel, diesel, naphtha, petroleum coke and liquid-petroleum gases, the refinery will process a range of different crude oils and have a capacity of 10 million tons of crude oil per year. South Korea The HMGY Consortium, which comprises Heerim, Mooyoung, Gensler and Yungdo, has started constructing Terminal 2 at the Incheon International Airport. The 72-gate, 7.4-million-sq-ft terminal will have photovoltaic cells integrated into the building envelope. Further, the project will include a second airport control tower, a train station and parking facilities. Construction is expected to be completed in 2016. The project is valued at $2.5 billion.
