The dispute between the brokers has entangled more contractors than Turner and Tutor Perini. Some contractors, such as Gilbane Building Co., have stayed with Aon (even though Fried wrongly stated that Gilbane had switched). One contractor's decision to switch to Alliant was based on the attention and service it received from an individual broker, according to an affidavit filed in the lawsuit.

When the contractor first informed Aon that it intended to switch, an Aon executive noted that Aon had not billed for some services it provided in the last year but was willing to negotiate.

Eventually, the two brokerages may also put a price on an overall settlement, but that peaceful parting of ways doesn't appear to be on the horizon.
